Response to Kids Kustomers
In the Kid customers writing by Eric
Sclosser, the author assert that kids has been innocently abuse by the company
advertisement and suggest that television and cartoon are the most use for this
track. By supplying the reader with information about the ads and the different
angle they come on, Erick claims for the respect of the child victim of these
ads. She also use the company that
has used a cartoon to make a smoking ads. The author wishes to convey to reader
the influence of these act on the kids and order to push the concerned to act
against the responsible.
Before 1979, the company was not
so interested by children and kids use to pass less of their time watching TV.
Nowadays most of the ads is on focus on child. These position of the commercial
center push a child to pass 21 hour a week in front of a TV. Without counting
watching video game and others. The modern day has an important impact on this
change. These business that didn’t focus on kid now have their own children
division.
Scholsser has made a
good points in the whole essay, and the majority of its argument are based on
his own opinion. He looks more like someone who grew up and some landscape area
without technology. That the reason he believe that today youth spend too much
time in front of T.V. He even thinks these advertising corrupt them. He blame
the big companies such as Nickelodeon and Disney for these corruption. But he
forgot that this is 21th century. The advertising were always there, the
problem is not everybody had access to. For schlosser advertising child is
terrible. But you can’t blame the big companies for. That's how it has
always been. This is the capitalism. All and for my money. The only one you can
blame for these corruption is the parents.. If parents would actually spend
time with their kids, kids would not say in front of T.V to create their own
education. Parents has to stop placing their faith in school for the education
of their child. They must do it themselves.
I’m
not telling that all ads are good for child. Some ads can be bad and even
affect the child on a negative plan. What I’m saying is that a companies can’t
be blame for what is not of its responsibility. Parents are the only to put the
blame on.
I wrote a response about ''kids kustimers'' because after i finish to read it i found out that the author has opened a important subject. but about his idea i don't support them
